Krakatoa Resources (ASX:KTA) said drilling contracts were signed, and a 30-man camp refurbishment is nearing completion at the Zopkhito antimony-gold project in the country of Georgia, according to a Wednesday Australian bourse filing.
The firm engaged a local drilling company, which will provide a small underground-style drill rig to be used to drill holes on small footprint drill pads and shallower angles than conventional diamond core drill rigs.
A man-portable drill rig specifically designed to operate in harder to access areas, such as steep slopes requiring a very small, narrow drill footprint, is currently in transit, with the ship expected to arrive in Georgia later this month.
The firm has an exclusive option to acquire up to an 80% legal and beneficial interest in the granted mining license for the project.
