HK Electric Investments Ltd. has announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Hong Kong Baptist University (HKBU) to enhance power supply reliability through the application of artificial intelligence $(AI)$ solutions. This partnership marks a significant step in industrial-academic collaboration, aiming to improve operational efficiency and power infrastructure performance. HK Electric's Operations Director, Mr. Raymond Choi, and HKBU's Interim Chief Innovation Officer, Professor Terence Lau, formalized the agreement, which includes the development of smart solutions and AI applications. The initial project under this MoU will focus on improving anomaly detection and maintenance of low-voltage distribution networks, advancing Hong Kong's smart city initiatives and contributing to sustainable development goals.
