Kazakhstan's largest oilfield has no plans for major maintenance in 2025, operator says

MOSCOW, July 16 (Reuters) - The Chevron-led Tengizchevroil $(TCO)$ consortium has no plans for major maintenance this year at the Tengiz oilfield, Kazakhstan's largest, TCO told Reuters on Wednesday

"Tengizchevroil $(TCO.AU)$ is not planning a major turnaround at Tengiz in 2025. TCO does not comment on specific details of its future production levels," it said in emailed comments.

The expansion of Tengiz has been the main factor behind a rise in oil production in Kazakhstan, which has frequently exceeded its output quota set by OPEC+, an alliance of the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries and other producers led by Russia.

TCO operates the Tengiz and Korolev fields. Tengiz, one of the world's deepest oilfields, was discovered in 1979.

Chevron holds a 50% stake in TCO, while KazMunayGaz KMGZ.KZ has 20%, ExxonMobil XOM.N 25% and Lukoil LKOH.MM 5%.

It produced around 606,000 barrels per day in 2024.
