Johnson Electric Holdings Ltd. has announced the formation of two new joint ventures with Shanghai Mechanical & Electrical Industry Co., Ltd. (SMEIC) to expand into the humanoid robotics sector in the People's Republic of China. The first joint venture, based in Shanghai, will focus on sales and support functions for robotic solutions, while the second, located in Shenzhen, will handle engineering design, research and development, and manufacturing. This strategic collaboration aims to create a vertically integrated approach to meet the growing demand for advanced robotic solutions across commercial, industrial, and consumer markets. JEA Limited, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Johnson Electric, will hold a 49% stake in the Shanghai venture and a 51% interest in the Shenzhen operation. This partnership marks a significant milestone in Johnson Electric's long-term strategy to enhance its presence in the robotics sector.
