HSBC (HKG:0005) bought back for cancellation over 4 million shares from Morgan Stanley, according to a Hong Kong bourse filing Wednesday.
The bank bought 2,648,717 shares from UK avenues, which include the London Stock Exchange, Aquis Exchange, and Cboe Europe, at a volume weighted average price of 9.23 pounds sterling each.
HSBC also repurchased a further 1,357,600 shares from the Hong Kong Stock Exchange at a volume weighted average price of HK$97.62 apiece.
The shares were repurchased as part of the company's buyback program.
