West Fraser Timber (WFG) reported a Q2 loss late Wednesday of $0.38 per diluted share, compared with earnings of $1.20 a year earlier.
Analysts polled by FactSet expected earnings of $0.25.
Revenue in the three months ended June 27 fell to $1.53 billion from $1.71 billion a year earlier.
Four analysts surveyed by FactSet expected $1.54 billion.
