OMV Petrom, the largest energy producer in Southeastern Europe, and NewMed Energy Balkan have announced the signing of a rig contract with Noble Corporation to drill two offshore exploration wells in the Bulgarian Black Sea. The contract involves the state-of-the-art ultra-deepwater drillship, Globetrotter I, designed for efficient operations. This development is part of a strategic initiative to explore new energy resources in the Han-Asparuh Block, aligning with Bulgaria's energy diversification goals. Halliburton and SLB will provide associated drilling services.
