President Donald Trump has filed a defamation lawsuit against The Wall Street Journal, its owners and two reporters for at least $10 billion after the news outlet published a story reporting his ties with Jeffrey Epstein.
The lawsuit, filed in Miami federal court, alleged that the article falsely claimed Trump's name appeared in a birthday book for Epstein, framed by a lewd drawing.
Trump further alleged that the article implied he had a continuing relationship with Epstein after 2008, despite public records and his own prior statements indicating otherwise, according to the complaint.
"We have just filed a powerhouse lawsuit against everyone involved in publishing the false, malicious, defamatory, fake news 'article' in the useless 'rag' that is, The Wall Street Journal," Trump wrote on his Truth Social platform.
News Corp's (NWS) Dow Jones did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment.
