Kinetiko Energy (ASX:KKO) has started drilling at its production test well in Africa, according to a Thursday filing with the Australian bourse.
The well will supply gas to a planned pilot liquefied natural gas plant expected to be commissioned late next year, the filing said.
The drilling is expected to be completed within three weeks, with first gas flow expected in August, the filing added.
Shares of the company rose 9% in recent Thursday trade.
