Venus Metals (ASX:VMC) secured the Bellchambers mining lease covering the Bellchambers deposit, within the Sandstone project in Western Australia, according to a Friday filing with the Australian bourse.

Samples have been collected from reverse circulation drilling and submitted for metallurgical test work to determine anticipated recoveries of the deposit, the filing said.

The company also completed two diamond holes in the resource area, which will be used for supplementary test work and geotechnical analysis, per the filing.

Shares rose nearly 5% in afternoon trade Friday.
