This collaboration aims to develop a sustainable domestic supply chain for critical minerals and rare earth elements sourced from deep sea nodules in the American Samoa region. The Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) outlines a joint commitment to explore a non-China critical mineral supply chain and leverage existing Defense Department infrastructure. The initiative will focus on refining essential elements such as copper, cobalt, nickel, manganese, and rare earth elements to meet global demand. By integrating ReElement's advanced refining technologies and Impossible Metals' nodule collection expertise, the partnership seeks to establish a competitive and environmentally sustainable rare earth supply chain in the United States.
