Proto Labs (PRLB) shares rose 6.3% in recent Thursday trading after the company posted Q2 non-GAAP earnings and revenue that exceeded analysts' expectations.

The company earlier reported Q2 non-GAAP net income of $0.41 per diluted share, up from $0.38 a year earlier.

Analysts polled by FactSet expected $0.35.

Revenue for the quarter ended June 30 was $135.1 million, up from $125.6 million a year earlier.

Analysts surveyed by FactSet expected $128 million.

The company said it expects Q3 non-GAAP diluted EPS of $0.35 to $0.43 on revenue of $130 million to $138 million. Analysts surveyed by FactSet expect $0.38 and $129.9 million, respectively.
