Financial stocks were declining pre-bell Friday as the Financial Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLF) was down nearly 1% recently.

The Direxion Daily Financial Bull 3X Shares (FAS) was 3% lower and its bearish counterpart Direxion Daily Financial Bear 3X Shares (FAZ) was up 3.2%.

Ares Management (ARES) shares were 0.1% lower after the company reported Q2 after-tax realized income below analysts' expectations.
