Semiconductor Manufacturing International's (HKG:0981, SHA:688981) attributable profit fell 20% to $132.5 million in the second quarter from $164.6 million in the year-ago period, according to a Thursday filing with the Hong Kong bourse.
Earnings per share at the semiconductor company stayed flat at $0.02.
Revenue increased 16% to $2.21 billion from $1.90 billion in the year-ago period.
For the third quarter, the semiconductor firm expects revenue to jump 5% to 7% quarter on quarter, while gross margin is expected to range 18% to 20%.
