indie Semiconductor Inc., an automotive solutions innovator, has announced its agreement to acquire emotion3D GmbH, a Vienna-based developer of advanced perception algorithms and software for in-cabin sensing, ADAS, and automated driving. indie will pay $20 million in cash at closing, with additional performance-based earnouts up to $10 million if certain revenue targets are exceeded by February 2027. The transaction is expected to close in the fourth quarter of 2025. Dr. Florian Seitner, CEO of emotion3D, highlighted the synergy between their software technology and indie's hardware solutions, emphasizing the potential to enhance safety initiatives like Vision Zero.
