Hazer (ASX:HZR) said Tuesday it has secured national filings for a major patent family covering its new electrochemical purification process, which will allow the clean technology company to tap into lithium-ion battery markets
The purification process provides potential to produce graphite with 99.9% purity, the company said in an Australian bourse filing.
"With battery-grade graphite now within our sights, this patent and filings position Hazer to participate in one of the most strategically important critical mineral markets," said Chief Executive Glenn Corrie.
The company has filed the patent in more than 20 countries to further its global intellectual property portfolio, it added.
