Pop Mart International Group's (HKG:9992) hit Labubu toy series is drawing consumer complaints over quality issues, The Standard reported on Sunday.
According to the report, posts on Xiaohongshu flagged defects in units from the April-launched series, including mismatched limbs, crooked heads, and visible thread seams, with some buyers claiming the quality was worse than that of counterfeit products.
Each blind box in the series is priced at 99 yuan, with official sales booked through the end of September, the report said.
Labubu's popularity has driven a more than threefold surge in Pop Mart's share price this year, from HK$91 to HK$278, but China's People's Daily has urged tighter oversight of blind boxes and collectibles.
