Samsung Electronics (KRX:005930) subsidiary Samsung Display is set to win its US lawsuit against China's BOE Technology Group after the U.S. International Trade Commission (ITC) put a preliminary ban on the latter's OLED panel imports for 14 years and eight months.
The decision, on the basis of a 2023 complaint by Samsung Display, found the Chinese firm guilty of infringing at least one of the South Korean company's protectable trade secrets. The ITC also noted that BOE Technology Group "injured and threatens to substantially injure a domestic industry" in the US, Yonhap News reported Wednesday.
The final verdict will be delivered in November.
Shares of Samsung Electronics rose more than 1% at market close.
