Leonardo DRS Inc. has announced the successful completion of its first open-water demonstrations of its advanced maritime Mission Equipment Package $(MEP.AU)$ designed for counter-UAS naval fleet protection. The results, already presented, showcased the system's capabilities in realistic sea conditions, demonstrating its ability to detect, identify, and track UAS threats as well as counter-surface ship threats. Utilizing a range of integrated systems, including the BlackLab passive RF detection system and the STAG EO/IR gimbal, the MEP provides sailors with enhanced situational awareness and threat management tools. The modular system is designed for adaptability across various small uncrewed surface vessels, offering a scalable solution for remote ship protection.
