Meridian Energy (ASX:MEZ,NZE:MEL) retail sales volumes rose to 850 gigawatt hours (GWh) in July, up from 777 GWh a year earlier, according to a Friday filing with the New Zealand bourse.
Compared with July 2024, large businesses sales soared 22%, residential rose 15.9%, small and medium businesses increased 8.8%, and corporate sales and agriculture were up 4% and almost 2%, respectively.
National electricity demand in July 2025 fell 0.3% from last year.
In the month to Aug. 11, national hydro storage decreased to 87% from 104% of the historical average. Finally, total inflows for July reached 89% of the historical average.
