Upwork (UPWK) said Tuesday it appointed Anthony Kappus as its first chief operating officer, effective Sept. 2.

Kappus will oversee legal, information security, payments and trust, customer support and communications, the company said.

Kappus previously led digital revenue at Redfin, Upwork said.

Shares of Upwork were down 0.1% in recent Tuesday premarket activity.
