Talos Energy Inc. has announced successful drilling results at the Daenerys exploration prospect in the U.S. Gulf of America's Walker Ridge blocks. The discovery well reached a vertical depth of 33,228 feet using the West Vela deepwater drillship and encountered oil in multiple high-quality, sub-salt Miocene sands. The project was completed 12 days ahead of schedule and under budget by approximately $16 million. Talos, as the operator, holds a 27% working interest, with other stakeholders including Shell Offshore Inc., Red Willow, Houston Energy, L.P., Cathexis, and HEQ II Daenerys, LLC. The initial success has prompted plans for an appraisal well to be drilled in the second quarter of 2026 to further evaluate the resource.
