Kuaishou's Ads Business Could Face Headwinds in 2H -- Market Talk

0325 GMT - Kuaishou Technology's ads business could face headwinds in 2H, Citi analysts say in a research note as they lower the company's 2H ads growth estimate to 13% from high teens previously. They note that unexpected tightening in online payment policies in Brazil has impacted ads spending by companies there. China's food delivery platforms have also spent less on marketing on Kuaishou's short-video app as their price wars have led to rising user traffic, they note. However, Citi expects Kuaishou's self-developed AI video-generation tool Kling to do better. It raises Kling's 2025 revenue estimate to US$125 million after it recorded more than CNY250 million of revenue in 2Q. Citi sees potential upside risks for revenue if traction becomes stronger-than-expected in 2H. Kuaishou's shares are 3.1% higher at HK$74.00. (sherry.qin@wsj.com)
