Meta Platforms (META): The Facebook parent has frozen hiring in its artificial-intelligence division after spending months scooping up researchers and engineers, The Wall Street Journal reported.

Coty $(COTY)$: The beauty and scents company posted a unexpected quarterly adjusted loss of 5 cents a share. Shares fell over 20% premarket. The Rimmel owner is expanding into fragrance mists and says consumers still want to pamper themselves.

Walmart $(WMT)$: The retailer is due to report results on Thursday morning. Walmart attracted President Trump's ire earlier this year after saying it would raise prices due to tariffs. Shares fell roughly 1% before the open.

Novo Nordisk (NVO): The Ozempic and Wegovy drugmaker announced a hiring freeze in noncritical areas, as it looks to fend off competition and control costs. Shares rose over 1% in Denmark.

Hertz (HTZ): Shares in the rental-car operator rose premarket, poised to extend Wednesday's 6% rally. That followed the news that Hertz would sell used cars directly through Amazon (AMZN)'s automotive marketplace.
