Best Buy's Near-Term Sales to be Boosted by Switch 2, Demand Concerns Persist, Wedbush Says

Best Buy's (BBY) sales in the near term will likely be boosted by holiday demand for the Nintendo Switch 2 console and a strong game release scheduled in H2, but higher prices could impact discretionary demand, Webush analysts wrote in a note Friday.

Best Buy is scheduled to report its fiscal Q2 results on Aug. 28.

For fiscal Q2, Webush said it expects an upside to the company's sales, driven by strong demand for Switch 2 and personal computers, which will likely be partially offset by weaker demand for appliances.

The brokerage expects the company to post fiscal Q2 non-GAAP earnings of $1.20 per share. Analysts polled by FactSet expect $1.21. Best Buy posted $1.34 a year earlier.

Wedbush analysts expect the company to reaffirm its fiscal 2026 adjusted earnings guidance of $6.15 to $6.30 per diluted share in its earnings report.

The brokerage retained a neutral rating on the stock and a $70 12-month price target.
