T-Mobile bets on 'SuperMobile' plan to attract business customers

By Harshita Mary Varghese

Aug 27 - U.S. wireless network provider T-Mobile TMUS.O on Wednesday unveiled its new "SuperMobile" plan, which offers satellite connectivity and minimized latency, as it looks to add enterprise clients.

WHY IT'S IMPORTANT

The launch introduces a new approach to business mobile plans by integrating network slicing, which ensures data moves faster and more reliably even during periods of heavy network traffic.

The plan combines satellite connectivity and built-in security to address common pain points for enterprise users, making it more appealing to companies seeking more sophisticated mobile infrastructure.

KEY QUOTE

"We're giving businesses the advanced tools they need to connect seamlessly, move faster and get more done virtually anywhere they are," said Mo Katibeh, marketing chief of T-Mobile Business Group.

CONTEXT

T-Mobile is pushing aggressively for business accounts amid concerns over a slowdown in consumer markets, as competition heats up and rivals such as AT&T T.N and Verizon VZ.N invest heavily in network upgrades.

SuperMobile leverages more than 650 satellites to enable coverage in remote and rural areas previously not reached by conventional towers.

The plan will be available to businesses from Thursday with a 30-day free trial promotion for early adopters.
