Asian equities traded in the US as American depositary receipts were sharply lower Wednesday morning, falling 1.3% to 2,471.4 on the S&P Asia 50 ADR Index.
From North Asia, the gainers were led by online education platform 51Talk Online Education Group (COE) and video-based social media platform JOYY (JOYY), which rose 7.7% and 4.3% respectively. They were followed by solar panel maker Emeren Group (SOL), which was up 1%.
The decliners from North Asia were led by online brokerage UP Fintech (TIGR) and used car platform Uxin (UXIN), which shed 10.8% and 7.5% respectively. They were followed by ecommerce company JD.com (JD) and game live-streaming provider DouYu International (DOYU), which lost 3.8% and 0.6% respectively.
From South Asia, the gainers were led by IT firms Infosys (INFY) and Wipro (WIT), which increased 0.2% each.
The decliners from South Asia were led by telecommunications operator Telekomunikasi Indonesia (TLK), which fell 2.1%, followed by telecommunications firm PLDT (PHI) and IT firm Sify Technologies (SIFY), which dropped 1.5% each, and tech conglomerate Sea (SE), which was down 1.2%.
