GTI Energy (ASX:GTR) said its name has officially changed to American Uranium with the Australian Securities and Investments Commission, according to a Wednesday Australian bourse filing.

The company's Australian Securities Exchange ticker code will change from "GTR" to "AMU," with listed options "GTROC" changed to "AMUOC."

The company's new ticker code on the over-the-counter market will be disclosed in due course, the filing added.

The effective date for the change of company name and ticker code on ASX will be from market open on Aug. 29.
