Boom Logistics (ASX:BOL) appointed Lester Fernandez as interim chief executive, effective immediately, according to a Friday filing with the Australian bourse.

Fernandez, the director of operations, will succeed Ben Pieyre, the filing said.

A search for a new CEO will start, with a permanent appointment expected later this year, the filing added.

Shares of the company fell past 1% in recent Friday trade.
