Calix (ASX:CXL) signed a memorandum of understanding to jointly develop its electric calcination technology for zero-emissions alumina with an undisclosed aluminum firm, according to a Wednesday Australian bourse filing.
It also signed a deal to undertake a pilot-scale material testing program and pre-front-end engineering design study together with the said partner, the filing said.
The testing program will be conducted at the Calix Technology Center in Victoria to demonstrate the feasibility of Calix's ZEAL technology to produce smelter-grade alumina from feedstock used at a refinery.
