Unusual Machines, Inc. has completed its acquisition of Rotor Lab Pty Ltd, an Australian company specializing in electric motors and propulsion systems for unmanned aerial systems. The transaction, valued at $7.0 million, was initially announced in June 2025 and includes a $3.0 million earnout. Andrew Simpson, formerly the CEO of Rotor Lab, will now serve as Vice President of Motor Production at Unusual Machines, overseeing Rotor Lab's continued operations. This acquisition enhances Unusual Machines' offerings with high-performance motors for both commercial and defense applications. The companies have co-developed a series of motors that will be produced at Unusual Machines' new facility in Orlando, Florida, set to open in September 2025. Rotor Lab's site in Canberra will remain an engineering hub, supporting motor design and prototyping.
