RWE Gets Funding for Amprion While Retaining Exposure to Its Future Growth -- Market Talk

0749 GMT - RWE'S joint venture with Apollo Global Management should be well received by the market, JP Morgan analysts write. The deal will see Apollo inject 3.2 billion euros into the German transmission-system operator Amprion via the JV. RWE currently owns a 25.1% stake Amprion. "RWE is getting external financing to make the equity injections required by Amprion in the next 10 years at a cost that should be below the expected regulated returns that should be achieved by Amprion's transmission business," they write. It also retains the option to monetize its stake the future, in what could be a much larger Amprion given its investment plans, they add. Shares trade up 1.1% to 35.41 euros.(adam.whittaker@wsj.com)
