Financial stocks were leaning lower pre-bell Friday, with the Financial Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLF) declining by 0.1%.
The Direxion Daily Financial Bull 3X Shares (FAS) was 0.3% lower and its bearish counterpart Direxion Daily Financial Bear 3X Shares (FAZ) was up 0.4%.
Tradeweb Markets (TW) said its average daily volume for August was $2.5 trillion, up 11.3% from a year earlier. Shares of Tradeweb Markets were down more than 2% premarket.
MarketAxess (MKTX) said its total trading average daily volume in August was $36.87 billion, down 11% from a year earlier. MarketAxess stock was nearly 3% higher pre-bell.
Brookfield Asset Management (BAM) shares were up more than 1% after the company priced a $750 million offering of senior notes due 2055, bearing interest at 6.077%.
