Lithium Americas Corp. has released a corporate presentation highlighting its progress and future plans for the Thacker Pass project. The project is currently in major construction, with significant contributions from the U.S. Department of Energy, General Motors, and Orion Resources. The company emphasizes its position as having the world's largest known measured lithium resource and reserve, as well as its strategic joint venture with General Motors. The presentation outlines the potential expansion of lithium carbonate production up to 160,000 tons per year over an 85-year mine life. Phase 1 construction is expected to create approximately 2,000 jobs, with a focus on local hiring. The project is currently around 70% through its detailed engineering phase, with permanent concrete already placed and first steel installation targeted for September 2025. Lithium Americas is also collaborating with the Fort McDermitt Paiute & Shoshone Tribe and has established a Lithium Technical Development Center to optimize processing.
