BuzzFeed Relaunches Flagship YouTube Channel

BuzzFeed is relaunching its flagship YouTube channel as it continues to pursue a broad overhaul of its business.

The digital media company said Thursday its Buzzfeed Video channel will bring back some fan-favorite series and also have a new slate of programming.

Pilots will launch throughout the fall, with new episodes dropping weekly.

New shows include "Feed Feud," a game show where Gen Z and Millennials test their internet knowledge, and "And That's Why I Walked Away," about the gruel and burnout of being a creator, the company said. The channel will also bring back its parenting series "Mom in Progress."

Buzzfeed Studios President Richard Alan Reid said the relaunch aims to bring new voices and shows with the channel's signature humor, reimagined for a new generation of viewers.

The relaunch comes as Buzzfeed pursues a broad overhaul of its business as it contends with an increasingly saturated digital-media industry.

Last year, the company sold First We Feast, the studio behind its popular YouTube talk show "Hot Ones," for $82.5 million, and in March said it completed strategic changes and reduced its debt. It also said it is launching a social platform called BF Island and prioritizing its programmatic advertising, affiliate commerce and artificial intelligence-driven businesses.
