New Silkroad Culturaltainment (HKG:0472) said it has appointed executive director and chairman Wang Gengyu as its chief executive officer, effective Tuesday, Sept. 16, according to a same-day Hong Kong bourse filing.

Shares of the firm were up over 2% in midday Wednesday trade.

Wang joined the board in June 2024 and has served as chairman since June 2025.

He is also the president and chairman of Shenzhen-listed Winnovation Culturaltainment Development (SHE:000620), the controlling shareholder of New Silkroad and holds senior roles at related subsidiaries.
