Lyell Immunopharma is searching for a new finance chief as Charles Newton will step down, effective Oct. 31.

Newton will additionally step down as principal accounting officer, the biotechnology company said Tuesday.

Lyell and Newton have entered an agreement under which he can provide consulting services through April 30, according to a Securities and Exchange Commission filing. The filing didn't specify why Newton chose to depart the company, though it noted there were no disagreements between the two parties.
