Singapore-listed asset manager Keppel Ltd. and U.S. tech company Dell Technologies agreed to collaborate on data centers and invest in next-generation artificial intelligence platforms in Asia, amid surging demand for connectivity solutions in the region.

Keppel plans to work with Dell to develop facilities across data hubs in Asia using the asset manager's green technologies and renewable-energy capabilities, Keppel said Wednesday.

Keppel aims to develop industry-specific AI platforms in sectors such as healthcare, financial services, manufacturing, retail and telecommunications.

Keppel said its cloud and enterprise solutions arm, AsiaPac Technology, will also provide services in high-growth markets such as Singapore, Malaysia and Vietnam under the partnership.

Asia is benefiting from red-hot global AI demand, turning into a hub for data centers and cloud solutions. U.S.-based Vantage Data Centers recently secured a S$1.6 billion investment from sovereign wealth funds GIC and Abu Dhabi Investment Authority to expand its business in Asia-Pacific.
