Zhengye International Holdings Company Limited reported its interim results for the six months ended 30 June 2025. The company recorded revenue of RMB 1.137 billion, compared with RMB 1.162 billion in the same period last year. Gross profit was RMB 103.4 million, down from RMB 163.6 million in the prior year period, with the gross profit margin decreasing to 9.09 percent from 14.08 percent. Profit attributable to owners of the company was RMB 2.33 million for the period, compared to RMB 15.03 million in the first half of 2024. The return on equity attributable to owners was 0.21 percent, compared with 1.36 percent in the previous year. EBITDA for the period was RMB 89.09 million, compared with RMB 110.87 million in the same period last year. The company noted that, during the reporting period, trade policy uncertainties and weak domestic consumption led to intensified competition and overcapacity in the paper manufacturing and packaging sectors. Sales volume in the paper manufacturing segment increased by over 10 percent year-on-year, while sales orders in the paper-based packaging segment remained stable compared to the same period last year. However, selling prices of packaging paper and related products declined. The company stated that the complex international environment and domestic economic pressures have impacted investment and export activities, while also leading to increased production costs. Zhengye International Holdings plans to continue focusing on becoming a leading environmentally friendly paper packaging enterprise in China.
