Dongfeng Motor (HKG:0489) plans to triple its sales in Europe in 2026, according to a Reuters report on Friday, citing the company's Europe chief.
Dongfeng Europe CEO Xie Qian said in a presentation in Italy that next year's target is 80,000 vehicles, a jump from this year's target of between 25,000 and 30,000, according to the report.
The company plans to achieve the higher target by offering a mix of internal combustion engine, hybrid, range extender and fully-electric vehicles, the report said.
"We're betting on BEVs (battery electric vehicles) for the long term for sure," Xie reportedly said. "But for the mid-term, I think there is a place for plug-in and full hybrids."
