China Power International Development Limited has reported that its combined total electricity sold by the company and its subsidiaries reached 11,721,471 MWh in August 2025. According to preliminary statistics, coal-fired power sales for the month rose to 4,948,171 MWh, a 19.07% increase from August 2024. Wind power sales also grew by 20.48% year-on-year to 95,353 MWh, while photovoltaic power sales declined by 10.10% to 23,514 MWh. For the year to date, coal-fired power generation amounted to 30,758,682 MWh, up 11.38% compared to the same period last year. Wind power generation for the year, however, dropped by 38.60% to 1,090,976 MWh, attributed to a reclassification of certain assets. Photovoltaic power generation increased 19.58% year-on-year to 175,983 MWh. The company noted changes in asset classification: a subsidiary focused on wind power projects was reclassified as a controlled power plant after China Power obtained a controlling stake, while an associate primarily engaged in coal-fired power generation was reclassified as a major associate following a deemed disposal.
