Celestial Asia Securities Holdings (HKG:1049) said it is in talks for a potential transaction involving its non-wholly owned subsidiary Cash Financial Services Group (HKG:510), according to a Hong Kong bourse filing Tuesday.

Shares of the furniture and household goods business jumped over 31% after shares resumed trading at market open on Thursday. Meanwhile, Cash Financial, a financial servies company, was up 47%.

Celestial Asia owns 64.47% of Cash Financial via its Celestial Investment Group unit.

It is in talks with an independent third party involving certain equity interests, which, if materialized, may have implications for shareholders of Cash Financial under Hong Kong's takeovers code, the firm said.

Celestial Asia cautioned that it was yet to enter a definitive agreement involving a potential transaction.
