Singapore shares powered through on Friday, ending the week on a high, tracking regional gains, with the city state reporting a 5.2% increase in its total retail sales during August.

The Straits Times Index (STI), a key benchmark for the Singapore Exchange, ranged between 4,371.44 and 4,416.90 throughout the day. It ended the session at 4,411.95, up 16.74 points or 0.38% compared to Thursday's close.

Frasers Property up 3%; Sembcorp, SIA Engineering, SGX up over 2%; YZJ Fin Hldg, Singtel up over 1%.

In company news, shares of GS Holdings were down over 2% at the close after it incorporated a new subsidiary, Tomorrow Brands.

Avepoint's shares were up nearly 1% as its stabilizing manager, UBS Singapore branch, executed a stabilizing action by purchasing shares in the open market.

Meanwhile, First Resources completed the disposal of its palm oil plantation business in Indonesia for 405.6 million Indonesian rupiah.
