MINNEAPOLIS - October 2, 2025 - CenterPoint Energy Inc. has announced an initiative encouraging Minnesota customers to participate in the Home Energy Squad® program, which offers home energy assessments to identify ways to reduce energy waste and improve efficiency. According to the company, the program, available to both homeowners and renters, includes on-site visits by efficiency experts who install energy-saving measures such as LED lightbulbs and programmable thermostats, conduct safety checks, and assess water heater efficiency. The Home Energy Squad® is provided in partnership with Xcel Energy, and assessments are currently offered at a 50% discount for residential customers through October 15 with the promo code EFFICIENCY50. CenterPoint also reports that participation in its Minnesota energy efficiency programs has reduced carbon emissions by approximately 17.7 million metric tons over 31 years.
