BYD Company (HKG:1211) produced 405,554 vehicles in September, down from the 441,052 vehicles produced in the same month last year, according to a Hong Kong bourse filing Wednesday.

The Chinese auto manufacturer produced 402,008 passenger vehicles and 3,546 commercial vehicles during the month.

Meanwhile, the firm sold 396,270 vehicles during September, falling from the 419,426 units sold a year prior.

Of the total, the company sold 393,060 passenger vehicles, and 3,210 commercial vehicles, figures showed.

Year-to-date, production was up 16% to 3,213,569 units, while sales rose 19% to 3,260,146 units when compared to a year earlier, figures showed.

Shares of the company were up 2% in morning trade Thursday.
