Shares of energy companies rose alongside oil futures after a more modest than anticipated increase in OPEC+ cartel's production targets.
There's some skepticism that all OPEC nations "have the capacity to hold these increases," said analysts at research firm BOK Financial, as reported earlier.
Natural gas futures rose as forecasts for cooler weather suggested a near-term increase in U.S. home-heating demand.
