The9 (NCTY) said in a Friday regulatory filing it terminated the MIR M game publishing agreement with Wemade through its wholly owned subsidiary China Crown Technology, citing instability related to the MIR M Chinese trademark.
The companies have reached settlements that include the refund of the license and minimum payment fees previously paid by China Crown to Wemade, according to the filing.
The9 said it instructed joint venture partners to return the restricted shares it issued for the operation of the MIR M game. Once received, the company will cancel the shares to reduce its total outstanding shares.
The company added that it may continue to work with the partners to promote its mobile game Ultraman: Hero Beyond Time.
The9 shares fell more than 4% in recent trading.
