Shares of Transurban Group (ASX:TCL) fell 1% on Thursday's trade after Victorian Premier Jacinta Allan urged the company last Wednesday to provide motorists using the new West Gate Tunnel with some savings before the tunnel opens.

In response to MT Newswires' request for comment, the toll-road developer and operator's spokesperson said it has been working with the state government on ways to provide free weekend travel on the tunnel in January.
