Bank of America is expected to report a rise in third-quarter profit, as a rebound in big-ticket deals is set to boost performance in its investment banking division. Also, Morgan Stanley is expected to post a rise in third-quarter profit, helped by a rebound in dealmaking that helped its investment bankers.

United Airlines is expected to report third-quarter profit. The focus will be on its commentary on booking trends for the holiday travel season as well as its pricing power.

Federal Reserve Board Governor Stephen Miran is set to participate in a conversation before the CNBC Invest in America Forum (0930/1330). Miran is also expected to participate in a conversation before the Nomura Research Forum (1230/1630). Separately, Atlanta Fed President Raphael Bostic will participate in a moderated conversation and Q&A on "Economic Mobility" before the United Way Regional Summit on Economic Mobility for Children and Youth (1210/1610). Furthermore, Kansas City Fed President Jeffrey Schmid is likely to speak on monetary policy, the outlook and the Federal Reserve at an event hosted by the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City's Omaha branch (1335/1735). Lastly, Fed Board Governor Christopher Waller is expected to speak on artificial intelligence before the 2025 DC Fintech Week event (1300/1700)

The Federal Reserve's Beige Book, formally known as the Summary of Commentary on Current Economic Conditions by Federal Reserve District, is set to be released.

Abbott Laboratories is expected to give its third-quarter results. Investor focus will be on the performance of its cardiovascular and glucose monitoring devices, along with comments on tariff impact.

PNC Financial is expected to report a rise in third-quarter profit, boosted by robust net interest income. Separately, Citizens Financial is also expected to post higher third-quarter earnings, benefiting from rising net interest income.

Paul Atkins, chair of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, will address the annual DC Fintech Week industry conference in Washington.

Statistics Canada is expected to report factory sales likely fell 1.5% in August after rising 2.5% in the month before. Wholesale trade data for August is expected to decline 1.3%, following a gain of 1.2% in July.

Brazil's August retail sales are projected to have risen 0.2%, following a fall of 0.3% in the month before. On an annual basis, retail sales are expected to rise 0.30%.
