A raft of Federal Reserve officials are scheduled to speak at various events. Federal Reserve Vice Chair for Supervision Michelle Bowman will speak virtually before the 2025 Federal Reserve Stress Testing Research Conference hosted by the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston (1000/1400). Separately, Fed Board Governor Stephen Miran is set to participate in a conversation before the 2025 Institute of International Finance Annual Membership Meeting (0900/1300). Miran is also expected to participate in a conversation before the Semafor Fall 2025 World Economy Summit (1615/2015). Additionally, Fed Board Governor Christopher Waller is expected to speak on the economic outlook before the Council on Foreign Relations' C. Peter McColough Series on International Economics (0900/1300). Furthermore, Richmond Fed President Thomas Barkin will speak on "Staying Sanguine About the Horizon" before the Richmond Association for Business Economics (1245/1645). Elsewhere, Minneapolis Fed President Neel Kashkari is set to participate in a town hall hosted by Elevate Rapid City (1800/2200). Lastly, Federal Reserve Board member Michael Barr will speak on "Stablecoins" before the 2025 DC Fintech Week event (0900/1300).

BNY is expected to report a rise in third-quarter profit, as the world's largest custodian bank gains from higher interest income and fee revenue. Separately, Charles Schwab is set to report a rise in third-quarter profit, as the brokerage firm was helped by a higher income from trading. M&T Bank is forecast to report increased third-quarter profit, driven by stronger interest earnings. Also, U.S. Bancorp is expected to post a rise in third-quarter profit, helped by higher income from interest. Furthermore, KeyCorp is projected to report a higher third-quarter profit, fueled by a surge in interest income.

The National Association of Home Builders' (NAHB) housing market index, a gauge of U.S. homebuilder sentiment, is forecast to rise to 33.0 in October, compared to 32.0 in September.

Marsh McLennan is expected to report a rise in third-quarter profit, helped by a strong performance in its risk and insurance services unit.

Jamie Selway, director of trading and markets at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, appears in conversation at the annual membership meeting of the Institute of International Finance.

Canadian housing starts numbers for September are expected to be released. The seasonally adjusted annualized rate of housing starts likely totaled 255,000 units last month, up from 245,800 units in August.

In Latin America, Brazil's August IBC-BR Economic Activity Index is set to rise 0.6%, after previously falling 0.5% in July.
